The Spanish economy is projected to experience moderated growth rates of 2.4% in 2025 and 2.2% in 2026, approaching pre-pandemic levels, primarily driven by robust tourism and the service sector. However, concerns persist among economists, with over half forecasting a potential economic downturn in the next six months, influenced by high fiscal pressure and labor costs. Despite anticipated GDP leadership in the Eurozone from 2025 to 2027, the domestic economic sentiment remains cautious. A significant proportion of economists view recent reforms and taxation in strategic sectors like banking and energy as detrimental to competitiveness.
