Spain’s economy has outperformed expectations with robust GDP growth, showcasing a 3.5% year-over-year increase, surpassing the anticipated 3.2% and tripling the eurozone’s growth rate. Notably, the economic expansion is attributed largely to strong domestic consumption and substantial private investment. In 2024, domestic demand contributed 2.8 percentage points, exceeding the previous year’s contribution by 1.1 points, although external demand growth has slightly weakened. The final quarter of 2024 saw a consistent 0.8% GDP rise, maintaining momentum from the previous quarters. Predictions from the Spanish Chamber of Commerce and economists suggest continued growth, with GDP expected to exceed 2% in 2025. This sustained economic performance underscores the resilience of Spain’s economic framework, bolstered by effective policy and active market players. Overall, Spain’s economic trajectory remains positive, demonstrating significant resilience and strong fundamental drivers amid a challenging global environment.
