The Spanish economy continues to exceed expectations, closing 2024 with a notable 3.2% growth in GDP, far outpacing the broader eurozone. This robust growth, driven primarily by strong private consumption and investment, has enabled Spain to consistently outperform economic forecasts as evidenced by its 3.5% year-over-year GDP increase in recent assessments. Additionally, national demand played a significant role, contributing 2.8 percentage points to the year’s growth, compared to the previous year. Despite a slight decline in external demand contributions, Spain’s economic expansion remains impressive, supported by favorable market conditions. This upward trajectory is expected to continue into 2025, with forecasts indicating GDP growth above 2.5%, further reflecting the effectiveness of current economic policies and the ongoing efforts of economic and social stakeholders. The sustained momentum suggests a resilient economic framework, reinforcing Spain’s position as a standout performer within the European economic landscape.
